We are pleased to announce the development of the CGS Career Portal, a current listing of open positions for graduate deans, associate/assistant deans and administrative staff as well as faculty and other higher education professionals. The new resource was developed by CGS in response to member requests for an employment listing tailored to graduate schools and graduate education professionals. The Career Portal resource will also be CGS’s primary source of information about new faculty positions, and will thereby replace the “PFFJOBS” listserv, which will be discontinued effective April 2.
The PFFJOBS listserv was originally designed to serve both hiring institutions and graduate student participants in Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) programs developed under a series of grants from 1993 to 2003. The listserv enabled academic institutions seeking candidates with PFF experience and skills to easily reach student subscribers seeking academic positions. We hope the new CGS Career Portal will continue to connect graduate students aspiring to academic careers with institutions seeking candidates with a broad range of skills and backgrounds, including PFF experience.
Both CGS member institutions and non-member institutions may place job advertisements and browse available positions; members receive a 50% rate reduction for postings. The Career Portal will be available through the CGS website (www.cgsnet.org) beginning in April 2012.
